Peacefully, in Ottawa on Friday, May 6, 2011, Catherine Cecelia Burns (née Rooney) in her 88th year.

Beloved wife of the late Edmund Eugene Burns. Predeceased by her loving parents Edward and Rosanna Rooney, her brothers Lawrence and Frank, and her sister Julia. Survived by her brother Patrick (Nancy). Kitty will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and their families.

The family thanks the staff of the Peter D. Clark Centre for their care and compassion.

Visitation will be held at Grant Brown Funeral Home Purcell Chapel, 11 Centre Street, Spencerville on Friday, May 13, 2011 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at the Purcell Chapel on Saturday at 1 pm followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Laurence O'Toole Roman Catholic Church, Spencerville at 2 pm. Those who wish may make memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
