Thank you for joining us to day to celebrate the life of Catherine Burns. I am Rose-Marie Batley, Kitty's niece and goddaughter. Kitty was special to all of us, and also to me. My brother Ed and I spent a month every summer with Kitty and Gene, much of it at their cottage. It was our only version of summer camp. Kitty was the caregiver to Jennifer and Josh and, in fact, my family, for more than a quarter century after Jennifer was born. During the memorial service, you will hear selections of music from Kitty's collection of CDs and tapes — she had many and we had to choose only three. You will also hear memories from her nephew, Edward Rooney, and from Jennifer and Josh Batley, Kitty's great-niece and great-nephew. It is a time to reflect on your own memories as well. Following the last music selection, there will be a funeral mass at St. Laurence O'Toole church and interment in the cemetery. You are all invited to a reception at the Legion Hall following the interment.
